Allosaurus was a large theropod dinosaur that could reach the length of 8 to 12 meters (up to 40ft). It was a large predator living during the late Jurassic period - some 150 million years ago.

Iguanodon represents the late Jurassic period (around 130 million years ago). It was a very large herbivore dinosaur. It could walk both on all four legs or just the hind legs. The Iguanodon's hands are unique not only among the dinosaurs - it had thumbs, hence it was very good at grabbing things.

This colourful plastic model is 6-1/4" (16cm) long.

Pteranodon was a flying reptile living during the Late Cretaceous Period around 80 million years ago. It was one of the largest flying reptiles, with a wingspan reaching 7 - 9 meters (30 ft). Pteranodon had a toothless beak.

Stegosaurus was a large (more than 9 metres (30 ft) long) plant eating dinosaur that lived during the late Jurassic Period. Its name means roof-lizard. This refers to the unusual plates on its back, which were probably used to regulate temperature or for defense.

Triceratops was a large (9 metres, 30ft long, weighing more than 10 tonnes) plant eating dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous Period (around 66 million years ago). It used the massive horns and frill to fight off predators. Triceratops is hugely popular along with its contemporary - T-rex. T-rex would have preyed on Triceratops.

Velociraptor was made famous by the film Jurassic Park. Its name means "speedy thief", which describes its lifestyle as an agile hunter. It was about 1.8 metres lond and lived in the late Cretaceous Period.

Camarasaurus takes its name from the hollow spaces or chambers in the backbone, which helped reduce the weight of the neck. It was one of the most popular sauropods - gigantic plant-eating dinosaurs. Camarasaurus was 18 metres (60ft) long and weighed 18 tonnes.

Deinonychus means "terrible claw", take a look at his middle claws. This 11 ft (3.3 meters) long dinosaur was a fierce predator that lived during the Creatceous period. The 5 inch long claws and curved razor-sharp teeth made Deinonychus a real threat even to dinosaurs twice its size.

This dinosaur model is 10" (25cm) long and is cast in solid plastic.

Dimetrodon was a large reptile living during Permian period 280 million years ago. It was a fierce predator and could reach size of more than 3 meters in length.

Diplodocus was a gigantic plant eating dinosaur living during the end of the Jurassic Period. It could reach up to 27 metres (90ft) in length, of which 15 metres would be the tail and 6 metres - the neck. The enormous, whip-like tail was composed of about 80 vertebrae. It is estimated that a Diplodocus could weigh up to 12 tonnes.

Iguanodon lived around 130 million years ago in the Early Cretaceous Period. Iguanodon was one of the first dinosaurs to be formally named. They were plant eating animals that could have weighed about 4 tonnes and reached about 9 metres (30ft) in length.
