The tour started in 2007 in Australia and then moved to USA and Canada. During this short 2-year span, Walking with Dinosaur Live show has gained a tremendous reputation and popularity. It was recently estimated that more than 1,500,000 people have seen the show since its debut.
Walking with Dinosaurs live was inspired by its namesake BBC show. In 2000, when the famous documentary reached Australia, Bruce Mactaggart started developing a show where dinosaurs would play the central part. It took around seven years to produce the technically challenging dinosaur show.
All life-size dinosaur models are managed by puppeteers using hydro-dynamic aids.
10 life-size dinosaurs are featured in the show: T-Rex, Allosaurus, Stegosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Liliensternus, Ornithocheirus, Plateosaurus, Torosaurus, Utahraptor.
