New Super-Huge Dinosaur Revealed

A new discovery of a massive sauropod dinosaur has been revealed. Named Dreadnoughtus schrani the dinosaur was 25.9 metres (85ft) long and weighed 65 tonnes (equal to seven T rex). Its neck alone was 11.25 metres (37ft) long. The dinosaur was excavated over a five year period from 2005 onwards and nearly three quarters of the skeleton were disovered.
Dreadnoughtus belonged to the Titanosaur group of four-legged sauropod dinosaurs and was discovered in Patagonia in South America. It was a huge plant-eating dinosaur that lived 77 million years ago. This size was its protection and it would probably not have been threatened by even the big carnosaurs such as T rex.
It is thought that a flood killed Dreadnoughtus with the ground turning to quick-sand causing rapid deep burial.
